Are You Leaving Things Better Than You Found Them?
Starting with this quote today, it has touched my heart and changed my mindset forever."Showing a profit means touching something and leaving it better than you found it." Jim RohnWhen you first read this quote, lots of things can come to mind. What comes to mind if you are business for yourself might be quite different than what comes to mind if you work for someone else. No matter what business you're in, this quote should make you think about differently about the word profit. To be successful in multi-level marketing, it takes great products, persistence, and teamwork. The ultimate goal is to make money, or a profit. If you are a follower of the "go-giver" philosophy it is to make a profit by helping others. But does it really leave the people you come in contact better than when you found them? Can you really make sure that always happens?Making sure that a person is better than when you found them is not always easy, but it can be accomplished. Remember, it does not always mean that you leave them better off financially. Some people start off in multilevel marketing and find they are just not cut out for it. But did they profit in some other way from being involved? If they were trained properly and had good interactions with their upline, the answer should be yes. Maybe they learned how to be more confident. Maybe they learned how to run a business. At a minimum they learned something about themselves that they don't want to be a network marketer. In multilevel marketing is easy to get caught up in the process. It is also easy to overlook some individual needs, particularly as your team gets larger. By keeping this quote in mind when working throughout the day, it helps to bring you back to earth and remember that your ultimate purpose is to help people in some way. It will also help you remember that profit does not always mean money. It is also important to know how to help people leave. Convincing someone to stay in a business when, in spite of everyone's best effort, they are not being successful, is not helping anyone. In fact, severe damage can be done by trying to hang on too long. Leave them with something positive and something they can use later. Leave them with a positive feeling about the experience, about you, and about the company. After all, even if they are no longer selling products they certainly can be some of your best customers and everyone can profit!Copyright (c) 2010 Soaring Eagle Companies LLC

Is Network Marketing Ethical?
I want to first start off and ask the question, on a day where temperatures reach 100 degrees, is it ethical to give someone walking down the road a ice cold glass of water? This is the question that will work on someone's psychology that can hold them back. Now, everyone will say their is a difference between the glass of water and network marketing, but really there is no difference. Here is where I will say that you could be making it unethical, and many networking companies teach the approach where I believe it boarders on the ethical and unethical lines. You need to decide what path you walk and it will be a difference between being ethical and not.The line you need to walk is who is your "IDEAL Customer". If you believe your company, EVERYONE is your customer, which is a lie and you will border on the side that is unethical. If that is true, for a gynecologist, if everyone is their customer, why are they not making appointments for men? So if your company is selling a product that meets the needs for women, why are you recruiting all your male family members? They tell you tell all your friends and family. Not all your friends and family qualify. So if you are pushing a square peg into a round hole, your not doing yourself justice. Now, let me break down a couple things about Conventional Businesses compared to Network Marketing.Leadership positions:In a conventional business, you have one or two top positions, a board of directors. On a tv show called Undercover Boss, they had on the show the president of Churchill Downs. He was talking to an employee that wanted to be the president. Of course he could not answer her, and he needed to reflect on it, but she did not have a clear action plan to become the president. And I bet if you asked everyone in any company, they would love the top seed, yet very few could obtain it.
Now, in Network marketing, anyone can get to any level and it is based upon your accomplishments and not others. It does not matter where or when you start, it depends on what you do when you have started.Promotions
In a conventional business, it is limited and it is determined by your boss or supervisor. In most cases, the boss needs to move up to make the void for you.
In network marketing, it is purely based upon what you do and your merit and decided upon you.SupportIn traditional businesses, your boss will not help you succeed, because it will be taking their position when it comes to rising up the ranks.
In network marketing, as you help others achieve more, this helps you grow. If you are all about me, and not do things to help others, your business will be all show, and no dough, or it will be a magical team, it will disappear. Where I talk to people, picture yourself taking a 5 year old child fishing, where do you go? Yes you can catch real big fish in an ocean, but they are few and far between on bites. Now if you take them to a small pond over populated with little fish, you catch lots of them. The child keeps interest and you have enough fish for a fish fry. If you have no activity on a ocean, the child will lose interest and not want to ever go fishing. Do this in your networking business and catch a lot of small fish.Advertising
In conventional advertising, it is about manipulating people to a decision. Look at the Marlboro Man, it portrays a man that women would die to be with and want you to believe you will be that man if you smoke that brand.
In Network marketing, you want to advertise to the people that you can help. Again, this is not everyone. If your product helps you, you want to tell people about what it has done for you and that there is no guarantee, but it could help them. Advertising is more focused on the client, not making the client someone they are not.BonusesConventional businesses, the sales offer one-off commissions, little personal recognition.
Network Marketing you are paid forever on what you do today. It is the ongoing commissions. They promote a lot of
personal recognition and team recognitions.Starting PositionIn conventional businesses, starting point is an entry level position, but sometimes it is based upon who you know. This can be focused on favoritism of family, background, financial position and education.
In network marketing, everyone starts in the same place, and is why anyone can succeed if they want. It is based on what that person wants, not what they have. Now, I hope this gave you a good feeling on how ethical network marketing really is. You can succeed if you have drive, and if you need help and leadership to achieve your dreams, you should plan to invest in education that will grow your business. Can You Successfully Build More Than One Network Marketing Company?
Is it a good idea to be distributor for more than one MLM company? Logic would suggest that it is. Today there are many network marketing companies that fail. Some companies are illegal and are shut down by the government. Some companies must go through massive restructuring to survive. Just last week, a publicly traded company terminated it's MLM pay plan in favour of direct sales because it couldn't afford to pay both the investors and the distributors at the same time. Some network marketing company owners just plain have no integrity. They start out as a network marketing company to save money on advertising and get all of their distributors to take the risk in putting their name out there. Once they have enough customers, they just terminate the pay plan when they feel like it. Trust me, this has happened.Company failures, shutdowns, restructuring, changes to the compensation plan, all of these things affect distributors adversely. Not to mention that some companies state in their policies and procedures they can terminate your distributorship at any time without reason and keep the downline you've built for them.So logic would dictate that to minimise your risk of these things adversely affecting you, you should opt for multiple streams of income and participate in several network marketing opportunities at once. That way, if one of your opportunities goes down, you'd still be getting income from the others.Uh...no.What you end up with is not multiple streams of income, rather multiple streams of outgo. If you're one of these guys who's signed up to multiple MLM deals, how's that working for you? (I want to know, please leave me a comment.) How much money are you making from each of them?A short time ago, I was prospected by a nice lady and she told me that she offers her prospects multiple MLM deals. This lady and her husband have built large organisations in several companies before, but her "new" way of business is sponsoring her prospects into up to 6 different MLM businesses at a time. This was her reasoning for doing business this way..."No one company will satisfy all of yours or your customers' needs. Your customers are more likely to stick with you if you offer them a range of good quality products and services." And this is exactly the reason why most people will fail if they decide to build their business this way. Why?Firstly, network marketing IS NOT a product business. If you want to be a one-stop-shop for all of your customers, that's fine, but that's not what network marketing is about. Network marketing is a relationships business. Quality products and pay plans are here to facilitate business, but your job is to focus on building relationships.Secondly you're not focused. Your time, money and energy is dissipated in trying to promote several unrelated products and services that you don't really know all that well. One of the programs you promote might be a real winner that could make you ultra successful if you focused on it, but the others duds are sapping just as much of your energy and you go backwards.Thirdly is how your customers perceive you. If you show any signs of ambiguity to your customers and prospects, you will drive them away. You ruin your quality perception, nobody will remember your brand and nobody will take you seriously because you're weak everywhere and strong nowhere.Specialising is quality. That's why specialty hand bag stores can charge much more for hand bags, specialty sports shoes stores can charge much more for sports shoes. And it's why at Target or Kmart you can't buy brand name items because they don't want that cheap image. In my opinion, you are far more likely to have success if you do your homework and find a high quality opportunity with good people, a good pay plan and good systems. What about those risks that I talked about earlier?Well, that's why you need to do your due diligence with a fine-tooth-comb for anything that you promote, and be confident that good people are in charge.

MLM Genealogy Lead - Why Not?
Working MLM genealogy lead lists can be an effective method of building your network marketing business. This is because one of the biggest obstacles you face in recruiting has already been demolished for you; getting the prospect to believe in network marketing as a viable and legitimate business model. However, it is well known that MLM genealogy lead lists are far from perfect. The prospect you call on a genealogy list may be quite pleased, with the opportunity they are in right now and not really looking for another business opportunity.MLM genealogy lists usually consist of a heavy hitters downline report, who has since left the industry. The problem with calling a genealogy lead is that 50% of it could be inaccurate due to the lists being old. The genealogy lead you try calling could be an inactive distributor and not interested in the industry at all. One of the biggest dangers of working MLM genealogy leads is the Do-Not-Call Registry. The number of phone numbers listed under the Do-Not-call registry recently surpassed 100 million. That is a significant number, the registration has only been in operation for a few years. People are wising up to the kind of marketing being offered network marketers. Some network marketers, who have already left the industry are almost guaranteed to have their number listed in the DNC.A recent study saw 100,000 MLM genealogy leads being run through, what is called a DNC scrubbing process and the study found, that over a third were on the Do-Not-call registry. It gets even worse, in the North-eastern states of the USA that number went up to 50%. If you are going to call an MLM genealogy lead anyway, make sure you have that list run through the DO-Not-Call registry, this is for your protection. Some companies provide this type of service already, make sure you find one with a good reputation. There are plenty of reasons to not call an MLM genealogy lead or use genealogy lists, the downsides simply outweigh the upsides. You may get lucky and sponsor a heavy hitter into your business but business isn't about luck. The only advantage of MLM genealogy lists are the price. They are very cheap, when compared to other lead companies like MLM lead genie. But be that as it may leads are the lifeblood of any network marketers business. The demand for leads in this industry has grown to gargantuan levels over the last few years it has had a massive impact on the quality of the leads you buy. MLM leads sometimes fill in bogus information, register with the DNC Directory, and then say they have not filled out a form of any kind. Most of these people just want to be left alone, they are interested in a business opportunity but only, in their own time and when they are ready. There are many ways to build your business and I definitely do not recommend calling a genealogy lead. In fact the one thing I do recommend you do is to learn internet marketing skills and start to generate your own. MLM genealogy lists are far from perfect, I hear some lead companies chanting 'buy MLM lead' but take it from me, an MLM genealogy lead is now obsolete thanks to the internet. The best MLM lead is a targeted MLM lead and they do not get any more targeted, than leads you generate through your own marketing skills.
