MLM Cowboys

You have probably heard the phrase, "don't be a cowboy," used to mean "don't get too creative with your job" or "don't go off and do your own thing."One of the things you really need to be successful in MLM is a great system for education and prospecting. That system needs to include:
A method for getting fresh, targeted leads
Education on what to do with the leads once you get them
A method of tracking what is happening with each lead
A method of tracking the success of advertising campaigns
An autoresponder
Conference calls to share testimonials, introduce new team members, and train
Self development training
The system could be provided by the company, or by a team within the company. When you have such a system in place, and it is producing results, this is "duplication." Every new person gets "plugged in" and uses the same system for success.If your company or team has a really good system in place, and it is producing results, do NOT be a "cowboy" and go invent your own! Be coachable and use the system that is in place, and teach your new team members to do the same. Why in the world would you want to go to the trouble and expense of creating something new, when you already have something that works? Your new system will need to develop a track record to prove itself while the old one has already done that.Also, consider that if you create your own conference calls, you must find people to cover them if you are on vacation or ill. If you do not already have leaders on your team prepared to step up to the challenge, you'll be stuck always doing it yourself until you develop some leaders to help you.If your company or team does NOT have a system, or what they consider to be a system isn't working, then DO be the "cowboy" (and a true leader) and create one! This will take considerable time and effort and expense on your part, to do it right. If you find yourself in this position, try not to do it alone! Perhaps there are people on your team who have talents you are not aware of (or they know someone who does.) You will never know until you ask! The Law of Attraction has a beautiful way of providing exactly what you need when you need it, once you have made the decision to do something. But the decision has to come first! That took quite a while to sink in for me.So to summarize, if your company or team has a great system and it is producing results, USE IT! Do not reinvent the wheel. If no such system exists, INVENT IT! And do not wait to start on it until you have every detail worked out. Have faith, use the Law of Attraction, and put the wheels in motion right away!By Dale Reynolds
