Network Marketers Guide to Talking on a Phone - No, Texting Doesn't Count

The other day I'm having this conversation with one of my best friends regarding some home being repaired on one of those do it yourself repair shows. The amount of time we wasted texting back and forth our lame conversation made me so frustrated. If only there was a way I could communicate with her using my voice, instead of typing each tiny little letter on my itty bitty cell phone. Ugh! Why do we do that? We can't even talk to our best friends anymore? When did that happen? Now, don't get me wrong, there are times when you don't have time to talk. If you're in a situation where talking is inappropriate, then texting is awesome. So it got me to thinking; if people are having a hard time picking up the phone and talking to their friends, imagine the difficulty beginning network marketers are having making those very important phone calls to their leads. You must have a real conversation on a phone with your quality leads, so you'll be able to find out what they need in order to achieve the success they desire. You never want to get on the phone and just start pitching your own business. Remembering that this is all about branding yourself as a leader. There's such an overwhelming amount of people constantly trying to sell them something. When you call to simply see if you can be of service, you will gain the respect and adoration necessary to begin a business relationship. A bond in which you'll one day be able to monetize; though the main goal is to really be of service.Once you take away the anxiety of trying to sell something to your lead, it can really just be about getting to know what you can do to help them succeed. Keep in mind that this doesn't have to be some long drawn out conversation. You should keep it around five to ten minutes. You're a busy successful business owner with many things on your agenda, you don't have time to talk longer.Whether you're marketing online or offline, you still need to pick up the phone in order to start making your lasting connections with your quality leads. It also doesn't hurt to use their name several times throughout the conversation. It turns out, people like hearing their name. (say my name, say my name...) Well that's my two cents. I wish you all phenomenal success.
