Now, this is one of the most common questions that you can get, if it is so good, then what doesn't everyone one get into network marketing. Now, first, I will start on the first type of person who does not get into network marketing. They are set in their ways, and they have been told, go to school get a good education and get a good job and put in 30-40 years and then you can retire with a home and a white picket fence. Now, in this economy and as the companies that have been downsizing, right sizing, optimizing or whatever terms companies will use to tell you they are purging the company of people that cost too much, are learning that this does not work.Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices, but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.Albert EinsteinI tell people, you have to adapt to change, in your job and in your life and in the world. If you don't, your future may be at risk. Technology changes and situations force us to change our playing hand often. How many times do you need to be let go out of a career to have to seek new employment before it is not working. I will say, some people in very influential positions in companies close to retirement, feel that they will be OK and they see the finish line. I applaud you if you make it. Another reason people do not get into network marketing is that people have all heard about that person that was unsuccessful in a networking plan and they feel that if that person did not make it, how could I. Well, you are a different person, with different motivations, educational experiences and job skills. If you look at traditional businesses, the majority fail in the first several years, yet more new businesses are opening up every year. They do not worry about the numbers, they know the desires in their hearts.Another reason people do not get started in network marketing is the fact that so many people are working 60-80 hours per week, and do not think they have the time. As I said in one of my other articles, sure you can not get rich quick, it takes time, but if it was an investment into future relief, would it be worth it or do you always want to work so many hours?Now, if you are buying into the "no one ever has been successful", "all network marketing businesses are scams", or "I do not have the time", are letting others persuade you and steal your chance of success based upon ignorant beliefs.

They want to be able to wake up the next morning and feel good about their decision. Now, you will get some to sign up on the spot (on impulse) but they won't last long in most cases.Slow down.Swap your network marketing opportunity from the front-end to the back-end. First, provide good valuable (relevant) information (for free) and then offer an inexpensive (relevant) informational product (a how-to book, audio, or DVD) as your front-end offer. Later, when your prospect "... knows you, likes you, trusts you," has bought from you and understands you and your business (because your front-end offers were relevant and explained everything about you and you how you do business) -THEN the right people will come to you asking, "What next?"This is when you offer them your back-end product (your MLM business).Not before.

It wasn't very far, just the next town over from where I lived, so we agreed on $25 a day. I did this Monday through Friday for several weeks. That was en extra $125 a week for me!The ad that I posted on Craigslist was simple and to the point and, most importantly, it worked. You can post the ad in the "general community" section.Extra Money Idea Two - Have camera... will travel You can offer what is basically an Errand Service for folks in the Real Estate business. This could work, obviously during the day, but also in the evening, or on your days off, or even on the weekend.Real Estate agents, in this economy, are often way too busy to get everything accomplished that they would like to. Once they are aware that there is a dependable, hard working gopher (you!) out there they will trust you with more and more work assignments.For example, I was usually driving around town, and I always carried my digital camera with me (because you just never know when you will see that perfect sunset... but anyway) and once I placed the ad a few times I started to get some replies.I found myself taking pictures of houses (sometime vacant) for agents that were doing CMAs (comparative market analysis), I was photocopying real estate records at various town halls, and other real estate related tasks. Since I was in the Real Estate world already I really didn't mind doing these things.It was a way to make some extra money ($30-$40 on average depending on the task) and it was also a good way to network with others in the business. I, for one, would cringe at the clock when I realized an hour and a half just flew by while I was on the Internet. In other words, you can always partner up with somebody.There are tons of people (in this economy) who are moving and although they need some help, they do not want to hire a professional moving team. That would be entirely too expensive. They would be happy to pay you a fair hourly wage, or a pre-set rate, for you to help them with their move. On average I charged $12-$16 an hour depending on location and time involved.To date, this simple task has earned me several hundreds of dollars and when you are trying to make ends meet I can't tell you how helpful the extra money is. So if you don't mind getting a little dirty and getting a workout in the process, this extra money idea is a mini goldmine.Not to be overlooked is the fact that you will get some "word of mouth" advertising. Your clients will tell all their friends about you! You can post in the "labor / move services" section.Extra Money Idea Five - Auction Partner Needed This is a Specialized Service that you can offer. It takes a bit more work to set up, but the profits on the back end can be excellent.Here is how my idea was born.I read the "legal" section of the local newspaper everyday (come on now... doesn't everybody??). I started to notice that there were more and more Self Storage Auctions popping up all over my area. In other words, when folks do not (or cannot) pay their monthly storage fees, the storage company will eventually sell their merchandise (hold an auction) to recover the lost monthly rental dues.So, I thought that if I could find a partner with a van, we could buy the goods at the auction, then store them in my storage unit (I have maintained a storage unit for the last few years), then re-sell the goods, and split the profits. Guess what? It worked great!I was very pleased with the results of this idea.Once you place the ad on Craigslist (for a partner - preferably with a van) you should be prepared to jump into action because you most likely receive a reply right away. Do You Believe in MLM?

Recently the company BAZI/xcelr8 gave up using a network marketing business model and just yesterday iLearningGlobal made the same announcement. I had read the policies and procedures of iLearningGlobal a few months ago because I was mentoring someone in that company, and I knew then that this would probably happen.How did I know? Because of this clause, which they quoted in the letter to their distributors about the announcement:iLG reserves the right to terminate all Marketer Agreements upon 30 days notice if the Company elects to: (1) cease business operations; (2) dissolve as a business entity; or (3) terminate distribution of its products and/or services via direct selling channels.When the policies and procedures were written, the company owners already had it in their heads that this business model might not work. So how dedicated were they, really, to making this company work for their distributors?Henry Ford is often quoted as saying that whether you think you can do something, or you think you can't, you're right! The Law of Attraction backs this up. By believing MLM might not work, and focusing on it enough to put it in the policies and procedures, they set the company up for failure!I always advise people that before joining a MLM company they should:
Do their homework on the people running the company
Read the policies and procedures
Know how long the company has been in businessI am not sure who was running these two companies but I would guess it wasn't people who had been highly successful distributors for MLM companies in the past. Someone who had already excelled in this type of company would know that it works, and would not want such language in the policies and procedures. Also, knowing what it's like to be a distributor, they would have wanted to take care of the people who became distributors for them rather than yanking their business out from under them with 30 days notice!This clause or one very similar is actually in the policies of many MLM companies. You just need to read those policies to see this type of problem coming! And if you are investigating a company and they do not have their policies and procedures in writing, (preferably available on their website) or they won't let you see them until after you join, RUN!I never recommend that anyone join a company that is less than 2 years old, because of the high failure rate for new businesses. If the opportunity is good now, it will be even better when they've been in business a couple of years and have the kinks worked out. A proven track record of success makes it very unlikely that they will feel the need to change what they are doing, or close the company. On the other hand of course, if the company has been around too long then they are past their momentum phase and it will be difficult to achieve great success with them if you are new.In retail marketing, companies advertise to get customers. Those advertising budgets can be huge! Have you ever heard how much it costs to get a spot during the Super Bowl? MLM works by letting ordinary people do the advertising (which is human nature anyway) and giving them the money instead of paying an advertising company. It's that simple. You've been recommending products or services to people since you were a kid, you just never got paid for it!Who believes in MLM?
